In January this year, to coincide with the launch of our new website, we ran a competition where charities or good causes could apply to win three fully printed Roller Banners worth over £250. The winner of the competition was Heart Research UK – a great charity who have been fighting heart disease for over 40 years.
You can visit their website here – www.heartresearch.org.uk.

Throughout January, and to coincide with the launch of our all new product website, we are offering charities the chance to win three fully printed Roller Banners worth over £200.
To enter, all you have to do is to fill in your details on this page of our website – telling us a little about the charity – and if your charity is selected at the end of January we will contact you for your artwork before printing and sending out the Roller Banners free of charge.
Roller Banners are great for charities who do promotional work as they are really easy to assemble, and they roll up in seconds allowing for easy transportation, and can be used time and time again.
To enter, please visit this page of our website: www.stockdisplays.co.uk/competition.

Last week we received confirmation that our application to register the trademark ‘Uni Banner’ had been succesful.
Fantastic news eh!? Basically I think that means that we can now put a ® sign next to the word Uni Banner, instead of a TM sign.
Here is the sparkling certificate in all it’s glory:

Motor company BMW always print great April Fool’s adverts and this year is no different. After their Magnetic Tow Technology, Canine Repellent Alloy Protection and BMW Instant Messaging adverts of previous years, this year they are claiming to offer different coloured badges for your Beemer depeding on your politcal alliegance.
Their Political Roundel Attatchment Tags, or PRAT badges for short, are the brainchild of Uve Beenhadde – the head of made-up technology at BMW. He said of the new invention: “We have been working on this innovation for a number of years and see it as a niche we’ve yet to expand into. One of the most popular features sure to strike a cord with the floating voter is that the roundel can also be replaced in a matter of seconds should the opposition suddenly feel more appealing”.
BMW are not alone with their tom-foolery – other stories supposedly making the headlines today include: WD40 releasing a new aftershave, Sayers inventing a ‘left-handed sandwich’, Google changing their name to Topeka (after the town of Topeka in Kansas last month changed its name to Google), the Blue Square Premiership using Segways to help referees officiate matches next season, Shakespeare being French, and finally an advert placed by the Conservative Party in the Guardian regarding the “Dept of Government Waste” which reads:
“The Department of Government Waste was set up in 1997 with a remit to make Britain a world-leader in spending public money. From our inception, our strategic objective has been to maximise expenditure and minimise frugality, in order to deliver sweeping cost inefficiencies for taxpayers.”
Please leave a comment below on any more good April Fool’s stories you have seen or heard in the news today.
